We have been talking about Canadian coins in Math, and learning how to count them in various ways (e.g. skip counting by 5s with nickles, by 10s with dimes, and simply counting various combinations of coins).  It is very important that your child recognizes the coins, knows their values, and is able to count up to a dollar in various ways.  Playing math games on my teacher page, as well as having your child practice counting money at home, will help with their number sense.
